Our Commitment
Bedford Software is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
Boardlo has been audited against WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria and has achieved partial conformance. Known limitations are documented below. We are actively working to address these gaps.
What We've Done
- Added a "Skip to content" link on every page for keyboard users
- Ensured all form fields have associated labels for screen readers
- Verified color contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.2 AA minimums (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for large text)
- Added focus indicators to all interactive elements
- Added
prefers-reduced-motionsupport for users who are sensitive to motion - Provided keyboard alternatives for drag-and-drop interactions
- Added
aria-labelattributes to icon-only buttons - Fixed heading hierarchy across all pages
- Added unique page titles for every route
- Ensured all interactive targets meet minimum 24x24px size (WCAG 2.5.8)
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are working to resolve them:
- Drag-and-drop reordering: While keyboard alternatives are available, the primary drag-and-drop interface in the agenda builder requires pointer interaction. We are evaluating additional keyboard shortcuts.
- Focus appearance: Some focus indicators may not meet the enhanced WCAG 2.2 AAA perimeter requirements, though all meet the AA minimum requirements.
- Redundant entry: The onboarding flow may re-ask for a name already provided during sign-up for verification purposes.
Accessibility Features
- Keyboard navigation throughout the application
- Screen reader support with semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks
- Responsive design that works at 200% zoom and 320px viewport width
- High contrast mode support (light and dark themes)
- Reduced motion support for users with vestibular disorders
- Clear, descriptive error messages for form validation
- Consistent navigation across all pages
- Unique page titles for every route
